A rainny morning, couldn't be more perfect to made some apple crumble  Few ingredients with few steps, a warm, fragrant, juicy apple bowl is ready to dig in

 Apple Crumble (1 serving)
.
3/4 - 1 apple
1 Tbsp raisins
1 Tbsp chopped walnuts
1 tsp cinnamon pd
1/2 sachet of @oricehealthy soy flavored rice pudding
.
Toppings: honey almond flavored granola @dailymeup, yogurt
.
Mix all the ingredients, put in ramikin and bake at 180°c for 20 min. Top with granola and yogurt. Serve while it hot 
.
You can use a whole sachet for more gooey, pudding-like apple base. Swap yogurt to nicecream or icecream as desire

Upon listening to one of my favourite podcasts @bengreenfieldfitness, he spoke about a study called “Discrepancy between self reported and actual calorie intake and exercise in obese subjects.” 🧐🧐🧐 I thought this would be enlightening to share in light of some of the work that we do @bestbodyco with our training and nutrition program... ‍️🥗 Subjects tested had so called “dietary resistance” which is where people are following a diet, but they weren’t responding to the diet successfully, particularly when it comes to weight loss. IE NOT LOSING WEIGHT / LOSING FAT / NOT GETTING RESULTS  Often we hear from clients that claim they’re “following the nutrition plan ” or “definitely moving around and be active outside of the gym.” ... yet why aren’t they losing weight and/or dropping body fat? So the study investigated the self-reported data with actual data. Ie actual energy intake (using indirect calorimetry) and analysing body composition 🤓 In those with “diet resistance” vs. control group who did not - those who had an inability to respond to diet were over reporting physical activity by 50-75% and under reporting calorie intake by 45-60%. I.e. they said they were eating only 1000 calories a day and burning 2000 calories a day. When in REALITY they were eating 2000 calories and only burning 1000 calories a day... 🤯🤯🤯 ‼️‼️‼️People have BAD memories or are just flat out lying! 
The mentality is... “Here’s what I remember I think I ate and here’s what I exercise I think I got.” Sound familiar?

Ground turkey zucchini boats! Picked up these zucchinis at the fruit stand earlier today and all of my other ingredients I got from @traderjoes. This meal is such a great way to sneak in some veggies disguised by all the contents in the boat! It tastes like a mix between pizza and pasta and it’s soooo good ————————————————————
ingredients:
▫️4 zucchinis
▫️1/2 lb all natural lean ground turkey
▫️1 cup marinara sauce
▫️2 cloves minced garlic
▫️1/2 tsp basil
▫️1/2 tsp oregano
▫️1 tbsp olive oil
▫️mozzarella to top the boats 
directions: 
Preheat oven to 400F. Heat olive oil in pan over medium high heat and add ground turkey and cook until it’s slightly browned. Add in marinara, oregano, and basil. While turkey is cooking, wash and cut zucchinis in half and scoop out the seeds so that there is an indentation where the turkey can go. Place zucchinis in a large pan that is sprayed with nonstick spray. Add in meat sauce to each boat. Add mozzarella cheese to top as desired. Place in oven for about 15-20 minutes or until zucchini is tender and cheese is boiling. Remove from oven and enjoy! .

Back day! Block pulls: 385lbsx3 , 365lbx3, 405lbs for a single after hitting 385lbs & 365lbs & 315lbsx10 for some volume work! My staple for back days are either deadlifts or block pulls. I was excited this morning because I hit a new body weight low for this prep & I’m starting to eat more & doing less cardio in the morning. I’m working hard, staying focused & consistent.

Lunch when you can’t drive and your groceries aren’t being delivered til Monday. This was whatever I had in the fridge and cupboard! Bottom layer you can’t see is mushrooms and pak choy sautéed with garlic, middle layer is tofu pan fried with sesame oil, lime juice and soy sauce, and thrown on top is diced coriander and tomatoes with a squeeze of lime. Very fortunate to have taught @xptlife Performance Breathing to @esteelauderph last Thursday during their FY20 Kickoff. I understand that people might not see the breath as important as how it should be but I see so many dysfunctions and inability to handle stress/pressure due to poor breathing mechanics.⁣
⁣
ELC's theme this year is RUN TO WIN. TRANSFORM TO LEAD. I basically told them that running 365 days a year is not sustainable as you also have to learn how to step on the breaks and downregulate. The breath is the single most important thing we can tap into if we want to shift to a lower or higher gear.⁣
⁣
And as the famous Viktor Frankl once said, Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space lies our ability to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.⁣
⁣

This sure beats the usual yoghurt, fruit and crunch I have during the week at the hospital. Take Friday for example, I ate straight from a nearly empty 907g Chobani, added a few frozen berries and didn’t add any crunch (Rookie error- Do not recommend) 
.
But hey sometimes life gets hectic, and looking like a clown eating yoghurt straight from the tub is okay. The looks I get are priceless 
.

Let’s talk meal prep and get serious about the cost of healthy food. I hear SO many people using the age old ‘healthy food is expensive’ line to dodge responsibility when it comes to healthy eating and getting their nutrition in check. Here, I went and purchased all this healthy, nutritious and fresh food for less than $150.00 today and it will cook TWENTY individual meals for me to freeze and have at the ready for my family and I. That’s enough meal prep for over two weeks if I decide not to cook a single night. Nutritious, colourful, fresh food. I will cook for a couple of hours and then it’s  done.
I’m a busy mum if two young children, I run my own business and work 6 days a week, my husband runs his own business and I still have time to cook lean and healthy meals. So what are YOU waiting for? I hear SO many people using the age old ‘healthy food is expensive’ line to dodge responsibility when it comes to healthy eating and getting their nutrition in check. Here, I went and purchased all this healthy, nutritious and fresh food for less than $150.00 today and it will cook TWENTY individual meals for me to freeze and have at the ready for my family and I. That’s enough meal prep for over two weeks if I decide not to cook a single night. Nutritious, colourful, fresh food. I will cook for a couple of hours and then it’s  done.
I’m a busy mum if two young children, I run my own business and work 6 days a week, my husband runs his own business and I still have time to cook lean and healthy meals. So what are YOU waiting for? There may be one ingredient in this list that you've never heard of, asafoetida - sometimes also known as Hing. It's an Indian root spice that gives a beautiful leek like flavour without the bloat! Pick some up from your local Indian or Asian grocer for a few bucks and use as an onion substitute. Just a warning though, this stuff is PUNGENT. Store it in an airtight container and be aware, a little goes a long way. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In the U.S. Quaker mimics the look and taste of real strawberries by using “Flavored and Colored Fruit Pieces” comprised of dehydrated apples, artificial strawberry flavor, citric acid, and the artificial dye Red 40. It's a total scam!

Meanwhile in the U.K. Quaker doesn't even attempt to sell that garbage. They instead have a product called “Oat So Simple” that has real strawberries in it—light years ahead of the U.S. version that’s made with artificial dyes and artificial flavors.

We are continuously assured that our food is safe. We’re told that it’s foolish to worry about what’s really in our food because companies would never be allowed to use a dangerous additive in their foods. Or would they?

SPRING IS 1 WEEK AWAY! 🤯🤯🤯 Regardless of whether you’re already on a fitness journey, or this is the 7th Monday in a row you’ve sworn to get started, put some time aside this afternoon to do some food prep basics, and give yourself a better chance of success. Throw a large quantity of seasoned/ marinated meat on the BBQ Fill your rice cooker,  and turn it on!  Steam, bake or boil enough vegetables to last a few days Make sure you’ve got fruits, yogurt and nuts available for snacks

These basics can be done in less than an hour, and simply having the food readily available, may mean several less visits to the cafe or vending machine per week, which over the course of 3 months = Kilograms off the scales.

Put the meat, vegetables and rice in seperate containers in the fridge and you can easy partition it out for lunches and dinners.

Eat your breakfast at home, and bring fruit, yogurt and nuts for snacks. 
If you’re procrastinating on getting started, this is an effective and simple start, then you can jazz it up as you get into the routine.

I let myself sleep in today and got in a solid workout, but only had lunch by dinner time. Also, studied outside for a few hours after bc today the weather dropped to 68F and it was actually soooo nice out! The cloudy cool weather made me v happy.
