Fruity Pebbles?

I have these two 18”x13” cylindrical pots I like a lot but have never found anything I really like to plant in them. I yanked out the yellow-green coprosma I was liking in winter and spring until the light changed in summer and they suddenly didn’t work anymore. Before the remodel, I had them planted with matching cordylines. I thought they looked good all year, but I just do not love cordyline. Sigh. In other news, the clarkia are GOING OFF. It’s such a long wait for them to bloom. Every year I forget how long.

One last bit of steel construction for the garden just installed, for vertical gardening purposes. Will plant with strawberries this weekend. PS how lucky am I that my borrowed view includes Strelitzia nickolai?!

I do not have much experience with bromeliads. This one always has a cute little flower in the tank. What is the name of of the part bearing the flower?

Let me know if you’d like to come get some Verbascum phoeniceum ‘Violetta’. I potted up a flat’s worth and have about that much still left in the seed tray.

Very happy with Monarda ‘Jacob Cline’. Most of the foliage is nice too, but the oldest leaves on the tallest stems look a little exhausted. Nice to see the flowers up close, but otherwise a good back-of-the-border plant. Later in the series is dill, one of my absolute favorite plants. I really only grow it for ornamental and habitat value. The flower umbels are just about to open. The tall madia is starting to obscure the birdbath. I should clip it back a little.

Applause for @tacomaki for identifying the Gilia capitata from foliage alone, months ago.

Visited the recently tiled, and re-landscaped, Tompkins Street Steps after lunch today. Tiled steps became a thing in SF several years ago, although they are still not as widely distributed as I might have thought they would be by now. Thumbs up for the landscaping, but one thing I do not like about the steps, and I do not like it at all, is that the landing regions between the stair rises are quite sloped, and not flat like the body expects. It creates a disorienting, uneasy feeling.
