She’s a 14-year-old activist (and published author) on a mission to bring diversity and inclusion to young people through literature. “I always loved to read, but I never saw myself, a black girl, as the main character. I thought that was a problem I wanted to solve when I got older, and then I realized I could do it then.” Since starting the #1000blackgirlbooks campaign in 2015, Marley and her family work to bring diverse literature into schools and curriculums around the world. ️⁣

That simple change to “A” means that we’re one of possibly many black lady sketch shows, which would be a dream come true!”⁣
