The brothers adventure with @tomjauncey begins! Next stop @visit.dubai 🇦🇪 We’re in town for a few days en route to a very special place for my birthday and some quality time to switch off, relax and catch up Tom’s been working on his FPV drone skills and I’ve got a load of health, training and breathing content (I’ll explain what’s been going on in my stories this month!) to share, that loads of people have been asking me about :) In the meantime this shot of the Palm is one of the best I’ve seen in a long time, kudos to @iamdocgelo 🤙 Anyone in Dubai and down to shoot, hang out or work out let me know!

If you look closely you will see red shadows in the water from the millions and millions of sockeye salmon that spawn in the waters of Bristol Bay, Alaska This region is one of the most fertile marine ecosystems anywhere in the world and where there is good quality fish.... there are hungry bears on the banks waiting for them! The animals support a thriving food & tourism economy that generates meaningful incomes for Alaskan people and protects the natural environment, but all their livelihoods are under attack as plans push ahead for Pebble Mine. 4 different mining companies have abandoned the project over the last 20 years and at a time where conserving our natural resources is more critical than ever, I can’t understand why we would destroy all of this just to chase money. @wwf @world_wildlife have been in Alaska for years fighting for Bristol Bay and I couldn’t be more proud to be standing there with them @loganlambert has a killer video coming soon and with a bit of luck we can help stop the mine #wwf #nopebblemine

Today we officially launch our partnership with @experienceegypt & Tourism Minister H.E @raniaalmashat to inspire people to visit this beautiful country, experience its many wonders and spend time with its special people 🇪🇬 Earlier this year we had the chance to shoot our first campaign of the partnership highlighting the pride, passion, peace, progress and productivity of Egyptians. I also made some very special friends that are trying to change the world through tourism and content :) I hope you like it #peopletopeople

I first went to the Philippines in 2016 and fell in love with the country and its people in a way I could not have imagined. The mix of east & west, the natural beauty of over seven thousand tropical islands and water so blue it looked almost unreal was something I’d never experienced and from then on the place played a big part of my life in more ways than one. I’m so happy to see more and more tourists going there and amazingly talented creators like @kayvanhuisseling (who got this shot) creating content that shows off the country and hope that if you haven’t been, you’ll add it to your bucket list soon 🇵🇭

Out in the middle of nowhere searching for Alaskan brown bears and sockeye salmon with @wwf @world_wildlife @drewhh. We took this seaplane and landed in a small glacial lake in the heart of Bristol Bay, the proposed site of the huge Pebble Mine, a project that will devastate the natural ecosystem ruining the livelihoods of local fishermen, tourism professionals, conservationists and animals. These natural resources support thriving communities of animals, provide sustenance and income for amazing Alaskan people and very special tourism experiences to anyone that visits. @loganlambert is working on a video that tells the story and shares how you can help if you’re interested but in the meantime, thank you to the hundreds of people that have been DM’ing about my #wwf work and for your continued support of our environment! 🤙

This weekend I went with @wwf @world_wildlife to Bristol Bay, Alaska to support local people, businesses and conservation groups in their fight against Pebble Mine. The area is one of the most productive marine & terrestrial ecosystems anywhere in the world, home to some of the largest concentrations of sockeye salmon and brown bears on the planet Through sustainable tourism & fishing the region provides food, jobs and once in a lifetime experiences that are now under threat as yet again we chase profit from natural resources that we don’t need to mine. BUT.... we can do something about it! @loganlambert and I are working on a video for #wwf that will raise awareness of the issue and what we can do to help preserve our planet. When it comes out any support would be so greatly appreciated and if you don’t already support WWF then please do! (: @loganlambert and yes I caught a bit too much sun in Jamaica with the #bdteam )

We’ve had a very special year @beautifuldestinations, growing the company, visiting new countries and most importantly building relationships with a team of employees from across the world that have become family This week we did a company retreat in Jamaica, spending quality time together, celebrating how far we’ve come and enjoying the best of this beautiful island 🇯🇲 We spent time giving back to the local community, visiting an amazing school for special needs kids and playing together :) Supporting & encouraging little kids is something I care deeply about and to be able to do it with the #bdteam alongside building a business that we all care about and can have so much positive impact is one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done (big thanks @jakeirish_ )

The first big, winter BD trip @tomjauncey and I did was to Lapland in Finland where we trekked through the snow at sunrise, dog-sledded all day, slept under the northern lights and did the coldest ice plunge I’ve ever done. It was so cold my hair, lips and eyelashes froze solid.... It was also a first for @nainoalanger who came straight from the warmth of Hawaii () and for @jacob who got strangely used to running around in his under pants. It’s a #bdteam trip I’ll never forget :)

Back in the early days of @beautifuldestinations, @tomjauncey and I would travel everywhere together. We were trying to build a business from nothing, meet new people and have experiences that would change our lives Me the older, better looking, more refined brother, him... well, just kinda there... it worked. We got to the Taj Mahal at sunrise, beat the crowds with some of our friends and had our first introduction to the power of travel. Life has changed so much since then and somehow along the way we lost the chances to travel together - but it’s time to change that! We’re planning some epic Jauncey brothers trips for the rest of the year and would love to hear from anyone with ideas or that wants to get involved #bdteam

Exploring Delhi on the eve of Diwali, the festival of light 🇮🇳 It was my first time in the country and nothing could have prepared me for the explosion of energy, colour and culture I experienced walking through the city streets. A day earlier we had driven through the countryside alongside trucks, motorbikes and animals carrying mountains of fragrant marigolds and stopped off to speak with local farmers about what the celebrations meant to them and the role their flowers would play in the coming days. It was amazing. @beautifuldestinations has a huge audience in India and I cannot wait to come back and visit soon

Work & travel take their toll on your body and after 15 years of retiring from rugby (and travelling like crazy!) I thought it was time to measure the impact and see how well the engine was working A VO2 Max test looks at how much oxygen your body uses during intense exercise as a measurement of your overall fitness. I am convinced that the exercise, nutrition & recovery work I do @equinox is the only reason I can life the life I live and whilst it’s hard- the payoff of knowing how well your body is working and how to train correctly is huge. Thankfully, I got to do it with my mates..... @dan_churchill & @alexbunttraining - absolute legends! Whatever your fitness levels or goals in life, a solid foundation of regular exercise is going to help, so get out there and be active - your body will thank you in the long run 🤙

Navagio beach 🇬🇷 The shipwreck of the MV Panayiotis has made Zakynthos, a little Ionian island one of the most famous (and instagrammed!) in the world, with many fascinating stories about how it came to be. Some say it was smuggling cigarettes and alcohol but ran aground in a storm sending its contents into the hands of local villagers. Others that it was simply an accident which then became famous after it appeared in a Korean TV show. Either way, months after, the wreck was bringing so many tourists the locals decided to let it stay and let people like @mixtita take amazing photos like this one 🇬🇷

8th BD Bucketlist of 2019 - Arashiyama, Kyoto, Japan 🇯🇵 This has to be one of my favourite countries in the world and a place I was able to visit in the early days of BD with @tomjauncey @jacob and @samkolder. Today is World Oceans Day, a reminder to everyone of the critical role the oceans have in everyday life on Earth. They are the lungs of our planet, providing most of the oxygen we breathe, much of the food we eat, medicines we consume, the transportation routes we use and increasingly the energy we consume. The purpose of the Day is to inform the public of the impact of human actions on the ocean, develop a worldwide movement of citizens for the ocean, and mobilize and unite the world’s population on a project for the sustainable management of the world's oceans. I have always believed that the way to inspire action is to focus on POSITIVE messages about what we can DO to impact our environment, not just complain about our issues and so on a day like today I hope we can all celebrate the beauty, the wealth and the promise of the ocean and get behind amazing organisations like @world_wildlife @wwf and @parley.tv. I’m proud to lend my voice, my time and my money to support organisations like this, I hope you will too (: @muhaphotos)

San Miguel de Allende has got to be one of the most beautiful little towns I’ve ever visited- packed full of art, cultural sites, live music on the streets and some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever eaten, @natalialalonde and I just spent a very special weekend enjoying all it has to offer. If you go, check out the Doce 18 concept house, el mercado de artesanias, Moxi restaurant, Juan’s Cafe and el Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel- moustaches optional . Jambo! Karibu Kenya 🇰🇪 There is something very special about spending time in Africa, connecting with nature and through @sheldricktrust meeting orphaned baby elephants :) The illegal wildlife trade, human conflict and changing climates have impacted wildlife in Kenya to such an extent that their very existence continues to be under threat. I will never understand how people can hunt these animals for sport or to make products that are so meaningless in the wider context of life but I understand that the issue is complex and focusing on blame will never fix our problems.... Supporting organisations that stand up for conservation will :) Earlier this year @natalialalonde adopted Jotto for us, a 3 year old baby who was found down a well and abandoned when he was very small- today I went to meet him and his family 22 orphaned elephants are cared for through @sheldricktrust who since their founding have successfully saved and reintroduced over 240 elephants back into the wild. Their elephant adoption program (see their Instagram and website) allows you to support their work, learn about wildlife and have a positive impact on these amazing animals- there’s a video of my experience on my last post. Increasing the right kind of sustainable tourism to Africa that prioritises the environment & animals, the very asset that makes African travel so special, is the only way to ensure long term success so get involved in tourism, get involved in conservation and know you can have a positive impact on the world when you do :) Huge thank you to my friend Deb @roarafrica for making this experience possible and all the work you do for Africa 🇰🇪

Getting up close to lions is something I’ve wanted to do since I was a little boy. So when I had the chance to explore the African savanna with an anti poaching unit and expert trackers looking for elephants I jumped at the chance. As we set off at sunrise one of the tracking teams radioed in a sighting of a pride of lions half an hour from our location that we could go and visit-if we were brave enough to follow them on foot. Today is Earth Day, a chance to raise awareness of the things we can do to positively impact our planet, change our behaviours and protect the animals, wildlife and natural habitats we all call home :) Simple changes to our lives can have a profound impact- from stopping using plastic bags or single use plastics, to using electric vehicles or offsetting your carbon when you fly. Yes a lot more than this is needed and yes we shouldn’t have just one day when we think about the environment but being aware and taking small steps to improve is better than nothing and together we can tackle this challenge and make good things happen! @beautifuldestinations we worked with sustainability consultants 3Degrees to help us become carbon negative for our business travel, calculating the impact of all our flights & lodging in 2018 and helping us select renewable energy programs we could invest some of our profits into to ensure we took out more greenhouse gasses from the environment than we put in (this amazing shot of Barcelona was by @dariovero_ check out his work!)

Tomorrow, April 22nd is World Earth Day, a chance for us to raise awareness of climate change, ending plastic pollution and the need to protect endangered species. This years theme focuses on this and so I wanted to say a few things about sharks :) 100 million of them are killed every year, largely for shark fin soup and increasingly due to plastics in the sea- which ultimately make it into the seafood we eat too. Sharks are often misunderstood as dangerous predators that should be feared but the reality is nothing like that- most species are completely harmless to humans and they are critical guardians of our coral reefs. I went diving off the coast of the Maldives and was lucky enough to swim into a family of them, who swam around me curiously and allowed me to follow along If you’re interested the please support Earth Day tomorrow, check out @world_wildlife @wwf and the team @earthdaynetwork #beautifuldestinations

Over one hundred little islands make up the beautiful city of Venice, Italy 🇮🇹 One of the world’s most iconic tourist destinations and given its low lying foundations in the Venetian lagoon, a place most at risk from climate related changes in weather. Yes the city has flooded many times in its history and yes the resilience of its people and power of its tourism sector have always bounced back BUT its flooding has become more frequent & severe and if we want to enjoy this beautiful city into the future we must learn more about our environment and change our behaviours. The good news is... it’s not hard! @world_wildlife has so much information for you to learn and the first step in making a change is becoming aware and then raising awareness I’d love to hear from anyone that is doing things for the environment or has ideas for more I could do to help! Details are still emerging about the extent of the fire damage but early reports suggest some of the most hallowed relics have been saved and President Macron has vowed it will be rebuilt. My thoughts are with the people of France, my close French friends and anyone that has had the privilege of enjoying Notre Dame on their visits to Paris 🇫🇷 (: @storyofsage : “Que Sera” by Wax Taylor)

This has to be the coolest new addition to the most vibrant city in the world 🇺🇸@hudsonyards @nycgo The development on Manhattan’s west side is the largest private real estate development in the US, a meeting point of innovation, retail & culture and home to this amazing honey comb structure, The Vessel. The spiral staircases are open plan so you can walk up and down them and soon when the first @equinox @equinoxhotels opens directly opposite, you’ll be able to workout on them #explorefurther (: @loganlambert)

“What we do in the next 20 years will determine the future for all life on Earth.....Never has it been more important to understand how the natural world works and how to help it” opening words from one of my heroes Sir David Attenborough on his new Netflix show with @world_wildlife “Our Planet” Please watch this! It is amazing! I am so proud to be an ambassador for the @wwf and by partnering with @netflix to create this show they have done what I and @beautifuldestinations are aspiring to do.... create positive & inspiring purpose-driven entertainment that highlights the beauty of the world and the importance of looking after our planet I know the David Attenborough shows have been a source of inspiration for so many of the content creators I have met and hope we can all get behind messages like this to help make a difference to the environment #wwf #wwfambassador #ourplanet #beautifuldestinations (: @smithsonianzoo )

What a week in Seville! One of the most inspiring meetings of my life as I had the chance to meet with & listen to @barackobama as he shared thoughts on how travel has impacted his career and why it is so critical to the future of the world. He shared stories of travelling with his family, what it was like on Air Force One and the places that were still on his bucket list. I was honoured to also be speaking during the @wtandtc Global Summit and learning from the CEO’s and Tourism Ministers that are driving the industry forward, they reiterated that the economic benefits are undeniable as millions of jobs and trillions of dollars of global GDP come from the industry but more importantly than that, is the impact it can have on people The sharing of cultures, understanding of differences and promotion of tolerance are some of the most rewarding parts of travel and why I believe it is so important for everyone to do. Big thanks to the team @wtandtc and @sevillaciudad 🇪🇸

It’s been a long time coming but finally True Hawaii by @nainoalanger & @captainpotter is live on our YouTube (link in bio). The boys have been working on this for months, creating a story that celebrates their home but also the importance of sustainability in life, of respecting and understanding different cultures and of recognising the power of travel as a force for good in the world 🤙 It’s the start of many @beautifuldestinations Original Productions as we push hard into purpose driven entertainment this year and highlight the stories of the most talented content creators in the world :) I searched long and hard for an image that I thought captured the beauty of Hawaii and found this one from the amazingly talented Cath, @mydetoxtravel. I hope you enjoy all of their work and will check out the video on YouTube 🤙 Happy Sunday!
